**PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A VIRTUAL PROGRAM THAT WILL TAKE PLACE VIA ZOOM. Registrants will receive an email with Zoom meeting information the week of the event.**

Talk followed by Q&A discussion, featuring Bob Hodge, author of Tales of the Times: A Runner's Story (Barb's Beer Foundation, 2019).

From the Publisher:

"...a true and accurate accounting of what it was like to be a part of the first running boom in America and how overwhelmingly exciting it was to be part of something that felt new and significant... The hurly-burly whirlwind-like nature of the first running boom is revealed in Bob Hodge's new book, and how and why he chose that path." —Bill Rodgers, four-time Boston and New York Marathon winner

"It was always my hope Hodgie would put his stories together into a book! His journey with running reminds me why we all ran—it was fun, it lead to adventures, and deep and lasting friendships. His style of writing feels like we're still sitting around a table at the Eliot Lounge telling stories. While today's athletes may be faster, I wonder if they experience the same joy in the simple act of running that Bob so clearly has identified in this wonderful book. Thanks for reminding us of the joy we all shared."  —Greg Meyer, 1983 Boston Marathon Champion

"The book's a treasure, feels like you're just having a beer or two and telling lies that are true."--Jack Welch, author of When Running was Young and so Were We

"Evolution of a working class runner from journeyman to world caliber... anyone who has ever laced up a pair of racing flats shall readily identify with this Ken Kesey-esque ride of a running career." —Mike Fanelli, Track & Field Historian.
