Presentation and Discussion led by Steve Edington

Steve will read portions of a chapter by the same name as this title from his forthcoming book The Gospel According to Jack: Tracking Kerouac in My Life. He’ll offer his take on Jack Kerouac’s experiences in the summer of 1960 at Bixby Canyon, in California’s Big Sur country, as described by Jack in his novel Big Sur. In many ways the novel foreshadows Kerouac’s alcoholic decline, even as he strove to retain his creative capabilities. Discussion to follow.

[This is also a Prelude to a presentation Steve will offer in August at the Henry Miller Memorial Library at Big Sur, California.]
