SHELTER: The Art of Caring - Poetry and Prose Virtual Reading

This free event will feature local writers & poets: Stephan Anstey, Diamond Asaneh, Suzanne Beebe, Douglas Bishop, MJ Bujold, Charles Gargiulo, Nancy Lee Jasper, S.C. Thibodeau, and PJ Wamala. Their writings on the subject of “Shelter” were selected for inclusion in the community exhibit at the Arts League of Lowell, which this month (Feb 3rd-28th) is featuring an art show and sale with all proceeds to benefit the Lowell Transitional Living Center (LTLC).  

Hosted by local poet Emily Ferrara, the February 11th event will also feature special guest Alexis Ivy, homeless advocate and author of “Taking the Homeless Census.” Ivy will read poems from her book, followed by a Q&A on discussion topics on homeless advocacy, and what community members can do to better understand and make a positive impact for our fellow residents.  

Visit the gallery to experience the full impact of the art show titled “Shelter: The Art of Caring”, February 3rd-28th, and perhaps to purchase a small artwork or a booklet of writings and artwork from the show, all to benefit LTLC. Arts League of Lowell ALL Gallery is located at 307 Market St. Lowell MA 01852. The gallery follows all Covid 19 guidelines, and masks must be worn.
