Free Lantern Decorating event. Join us to decorate lanterns to be launched in the Western Canal at the 3rd annual Points of Light event on May 4, 2019. We will also be screening the 2016 documentary Paper Lanterns (NR | English and Japanese with English Subtitles | 61 min.) with a Q&A by director Barry Frechette. This film tells the story of Mr. Shigeaki Mori's quest to reach families of American POWs who were killed in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Included on the list of the 12 servicemen who were killed was Lowell native Normand Brissette. The film tells the story of Mr. Mori's connection with the famlies of the lost and the creating of memorial in Hiroshima Peace Museum.
