Lowell Storytelling is partnering with Brew’d Awakening and Pollard Memorial Library’s 3rd Annual Kerouac Marathon Reading for our first Lowell Storytelling Slam!
Prepare a five-minute true story about a time of transition: the time your car broke down in the middle of your move; when you started yet another new school. All of the good, bad, and the ugly that times of transitions can bring.
Storytellers will enter their names into a hat to be drawn randomly. Each story will be evaluated by our panel of three community members. The storyteller with the highest number of points will be invited to workshop their story and join Lowell Storytelling’s performance on July 11, 2020.
About the theme: This year, the Pollard Memorial Library Marathon Reading will feature Jack Kerouac’s The Town and The City, which follows Peter Martin and his family through job changes, moves, deaths, World War II, and many other transitions.
