Want to learn about something new or share your experiences with others who want to learn from you? Each month, a new topic will be selected by the group who attends. We'll be exploring technology, life experiences, online resources, community assets, and more while having a combination of presentation and interactive discussions to get the most about a particular topic. 

February's topic is Identify Theft presented by Bill O'Hearn with time for questions and answers after his presentation. 

Bill O'Hearn is an Assistant Attorney General and Deputy Chief of the Consumer Advocacy & Response Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office. The Consumer Advocacy & Response Division receives and reviews complaints, advocates on behalf of Massachusetts consumers, and implements settlements entered into by the Attorney General's Office in various areas relating to the Office's consumer protection efforts, including debt collection, mortgage lending and servicing, housing, automobile sales and lending, and data privacy and security. In addition to his work related to Robocalls and Telemarketing, Bill's recent work includes enforcement of the state's Consumer Protection Act and Home Improvement Contractor Act. Bill previously served as a Special Assistant District Attorney in the Roxbury Division of the Boston Municipal Court and served as Deputy Director to the HomeCorps program, a program funded by the National Mortgage Settlement to help mitigate the impacts of the foreclosure crisis by providing direct assistance to homeowners in foreclosure. He earned his J.D. in 2010 from Chicago-Kent College of Law and is a 2002 graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Prior to attending law school, Bill worked for State Street Corporation as a Technology Analyst where he helped developed software applications for the company's mutual fund accounting division.
