Lowell Artist Showcase: Debbie Roy

Wednesday, March 206:30—8:00 PMGround Floor Community / Meeting RoomMain Branch401 Merrimack St., Lowell, MA, 01852

Introducing the Lowell Artist Showcase! Once a month the library hosts a local artist to come in, talk about & showcase their art, and give small, simple demonstration or project that attendees can participate in.  Materials will be provided by the library.

This month we will be hosting Debbie Roy and her craft-foam creations.  She plans to share some of her completed projects followed by a hands-on workshop demonstrating how to make simple roses using craft-foam, scissors, and a glue gun.

About the Artist:
Having spent most of her life immersed in creative endeavors (of very little career, monetary, or historical significance), Debbie Roy has decided to continue this trend. She fills her days with obsessive and varied crafting, singing, sewing, and building costumes for her scooter as well as writing stories, poems, plays, and frivolous Facebook updates. She has seldom met a craft she didn’t like.  After discovering the versatility of craft-foam sheets, she's used them to make everything from costumes and props to seasonal decorations. Getting older is mandatory, growing up is optional.
